Great Articles to Avoiding Fake Scotty Cameron Putters

The Studio Style is the most prevelent knock-off here on e-bay, so here’s some pointers to help you spot the “fakes”.

-One thing for sure with the covers is the Titleist logo, the “T” is much more curved on a fake, and the aligment is usually further left.

-Also look at the letters “A” and “M” the A on a fake comes to a point at the top, and is more curved on an original.

- The “M” is much more straight up and down than on an authentic headcover.

- As far as the club itself, most phonies will not have the proper shaft, if the shaft is “TrueTemper”, be warned, it’s not a stock shaft, or at least it’s not common to see the actual “True Temper” written on the shaft itself.

-Additionally the Scotty Cameron sticker with club details will always be under the grip (not visible when at address), unless it’s a full wrap-around, of course.

-The most important thing is to ask for additional photos from the seller of a Studio (SC) putter, or any suspicious Scotty, because there are many fakes on the market now, ask for detailed photos of the sole, cover, and milled face.

-Also, the back will not show any signs of (buffing) on the backside of a fake, it will look almost “powdery”; this is a good sign the club was never really finished in the “Studio”.

- And Studio Style heads DO NOT COME WRAPPED IN PLASTIC!!!

Scotty Cameron Putters – Fun – Innovative – Trendy – Affordable

When I was asked to write an article on putters I was quite happy, nothing too out the blue there and just another bit of time out my working day.

I then got the brief though and realised it was not just putters but Scotty Cameron Putters, my face lit up and I’m still grinning now. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then you’ve never experienced a Scotty Cameron Putter have you?

Fun, innovative, cool, precision engineering, extensive research and development, trendy and affordable, are all words that the brand name Scotty Cameron conjure up in my head.

Davis Love III and Charley Hoffman, both HUGE fans of Scotty so you’re in good company should you decide to go ahead and buy one today!

As Scotty himself says “you can go wild or mild”! He is of course referring to the custom designs and finishes you can add to a Scotty Cameron Putter that reflect and match your personality or outfit! Wild with bright colors, headcovers, grips and stamps. Mild with a back-to-original restoration that keeps a Classic looking classic forever! Making a truly unique putter that will never fail to impress fellow golfers not only in looks but in your putting performance too!

The design spectrum Scotty offers is close on insane, I’m guessing here but I don’t guess unless I think I’m pretty close, but a day in the life of the Scotty Cameron Putter design team must be fantastic. He is indeed the Heston Blumenthal of the golfing world.

Growing up, Scotty often played golf with his father, an insurance investigator with a passion for the game and a two handicap. When they weren’t out on a golf course, they were in the garage working on clubs, shaping heads, wrapping grips, creating new designs, then taking them out for "field" tests.

With the putter, the idea was, when it’s finished, it should look like it melts into the ground. One of the last things Scotty remembers his dad telling him was, "Stick with the game of golf, Scotty. I think you have a future."

And old man Cameron wasn’t wrong!

When you buy a Scotty Cameron Putter you can be sure that you are buying a product of pure passion with a hint of indulgence which with the custom options available is dictated by you!

Putt like never before with a Scotty Cameron Putter in your hands!
